Meet the Med-Link Team
Accredited Pharmacist and General Manager
Jennifer Bakija
B Pharm, AACPA, MPS.
I have been a Pharmacist for 30 years with the past 20 years devoted in large to the provision of medication review services to Aged Care facilities and community pharmacies.
I founded Medlink with the goal of establishing a team of likeminded professionals, to provide a high quality of medication reviews to aged care facilities and the broader community. I believe that success in promoting quality use of medicines can only be done when we work in partnership with patients, their carers and other health professionals and that our role as a pharmacist doing medication reviews is pivotal to link all so that the patient care is optimised.
I am passionate about ensuring that Medlink continues to grow and adapt to any changes in medication use and administration. To ensure that Medlink continues to be an invaluable support for patients, Carers and aged care facilities and their organisations in adapting their policies and procedures to manage these changes. I have a great team and look forward to continue to supporting them in continued growth and passion for their work.

As a Medlink Pharmacist, I take pride in my work as I am constantly striving to achieve the best health outcomes and quality of life for my patients. I aim to improve understanding, compliance, and management of medications, through educating patients and their carers. I also work to reduce the adverse effects of polypharmacy by assessing the ongoing appropriateness of each medication, identifying drug interactions, and optimising medication regimens.
In my work, I often see the direct positive impact medication reviews have for the patient. I love working as an accredited pharmacist as I get satisfaction and pleasure from helping people and making a difference to their lives by improving their health outcomes and quality of life.

I have been involved in community Pharmacy for many years, in my role as a manager of a community pharmacy. In that time is was involved in actively promoting quality use of medications. In my expanded role as an accredited pharmacist providing HMR and RMMR reviews I can utilise all my experience to produce quality reviews of medication usage.
My role with Medlink allows me to promote the quality use of medications, I think that this will only work with collaboration of GPs, the patient, and carers. My role as an accredited pharmacist allows this and provides a high level of personal and professional achievement,
I am passionate about my role as I can see that my involvement will maximise each patient’s benefit from their medication regimen, and prevent medication-related problems through a team approach.

My goals with Medlink is to further my knowledge as an accredited pharmacist and achieve the best possible outcomes for the patients and medical staff. To aid in achieving and inspiring nursing staff to accomplish the highest possible standards of QUM for their patients.
I am always inspired to learn and to provide the best possible service to improve the quality of life of patients. To collaborate with fellow colleagues and promote and educate the public about the important services we provide as a profession. To build strong relationships with other health practitioners and work as a team for optimal patient care.
